Review by hotel critic
Located in the heart of the action, it was an ideal base for my adventures. The rooms face a lively pedestrian street, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet ambiance when the windows were shut. The air conditioning definitely helped in keeping the tropical humidity at bay! While sharing bathrooms can be a concern, our assigned facilities were clean and well-stocked with free toiletries. The shared bathroom was designated just for us, ensuring privacy—which was a nice surprise. I did have some skepticism due to mixed reviews, but I found the accommodations to be excellent for the price. Basic yet functional, each room came with essential amenities like a flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi, making it a worthy option for budget-conscious travelers. The owner, Martin, was sincerely welcoming and helpful in organizing tours, enhancing our stay without the hassle. When considering value versus luxury, this guest house represents a sound financial choice for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in local culture while enjoying essential comforts.
